Norwood has been sued by Marouane Hdidou, seeking damages, in a Los Angeles court last Wednesday. The lawsuit was filed accusing Norwood of negligent driving leading to the death of Aboudihaj, Marouane’s wife. A patrol report mentioned that the Land Rover used by Norwood sped at 65mph and hit the back of a Honda car driven by Aboudihaj. As a result of the crash, Honda went on to hit the centre divider before being hit by another car. Aboudiha died on the spot on the San Diego freeway.

The attorney office is indecisive about charging Norwood with the crime, however, if charged and convicted, she might face up to a year in jail, besides paying $1000 in fine.

The 28 year old actress-singer, among a list of nominations and awards, won Grammy Award for best R&B performance for The Boy is Mine. She will be remembered for her role of ‘Karla’ playing best friend to the lead character played by Jennifer Hewitt in I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.

The L.A. Confidential actress was present in the court, last Friday, with her lawyer. The hearing was on the ‘leaked’ voicemail where Baldwin is heard lashing out at his daughter calling her ‘a rude and thoughtless little pig’. Baldwin was conspicuous by his absence at the hearing, but he was duly represented by his attorney.

The Golden Globe winning actor, denied the message left in the voicemail was for his daughter and rather that it was meant for his ex-wife.

A separate hearing on the leaked tape is scheduled for June 5.

The Baywatch star though on track perhaps to quit drinking, justifies the ‘relapsing’ syndrome. He believes if he hits the brief relapse of an inclination to drink, it is only part of recovery. His problem with alcohol abuse is apparently known from 2004 when he was arrested on driving under its influence.

Babel, the movie, directed by a talented Mexican, Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, was released worldwide in 2006. However, the movie starring Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett and a bunch of unknown actors was released in Japan last Saturday. The picture was anxiously awaited by the people of Japan as Rinko Kikuchi, a Japanese actress, played a prominent role of a deaf and mute girl. Also, the fact that Kikuchi had Oscar nomination for best supporting actress, threw audience to cinema theatres.

But, sadly, all has not gone well with people who went to watch their actress in theatres. There have been complaints that people felt nauseous and sick after seeing the film. Gaga Communications that released the movie, is investigating into which scenes in particular gave audience headache. This has also prompted some 300 theaters across Japan to issue a warning that Babel contained scenes with strong effects that might not go down well with certain audience.

The movie narrates the events of three suffering families from different continents, all linked to a base plot of a couple struggling in African desert.

Babel had seven Oscar nominations but it won award for the best original score.

However, alarmingly, millions of hectares of Eucalyptus trees are decaying and dying at incredible rate across Australia.

Environmental Researchers, in a serious bid, are keenly investigating the critical reason behind this unfortunate happening.

As part of their research, they are lighting controlled fires in the decaying forests in West Australia’s south-west to determine if in the aftermath of fire, a process of tree rejuvenation is taking place. This is going by the logic that regeneration replaces trees that hit mortality.

They assume the forest management policies do not allow these trees to revitalize on its own by preventing fires blowing up the forest.
